Description of the Project | To review any previous Traffic Impact Assessment report proposals for improvement of external road network within the project vicinity; Study the traffic flow within the project study area noting points likely to experience traffic bottlenecks; and, To review capacity of the road sections and intersection to handle generated/attracted traffic owing to the proposed properties and recommend necessary solutions to ensure delays and traffic operating conditions are within acceptable limits. |
Description of the Services | Review the previous traffic study covering the Vipingo Ridge junction and Industrial Park access; Prepare a future combined traffic volume plan for typical daily and key peak hours of the development and roadway systems; Provide guidelines on traffic optimization to manage traffic congestion in and around; Vipingo Ridge / Mombasa – Malindi (B8) highway junction; and, Industrial Park / Mombasa – Malindi (B8) highway access point. Quantifying the impact of the development on road and transportation networks; and, Mitigation measures to reduce the impact of the development on the Mombasa – Malindi (B8) highway. Review pedestrian, vehicular, cyclist, motor bike access to the development; Review all road links and associated junctions that serve the development; Develop access road and junction designs to access Awali Vipingo Ridge road, Mall & petrol station; and Identify key traffic / transport aspects that should be addressed and recommend a solution. Facilitate approval for improvements and expansion works within and around the development; Liaise with planning and regulatory authorities e.g. Kenya National Highways Authority, for design & construction approvals and establish the traffic and transport implications as an integral element of the development proposal; Liaise with KENHA on the proposed road improvements of the Mombasa – Malindi (B8) highway; and, Provide detailed designs for the site accesses to KeNHA and the Kilifi County based on the approved TIA. Provide design on public transportation management on site; Provide design and advise on traffic management and flow in phase 1; Co-ordinate with the other consultants to finalize the proposed traffic handling solutions; and, Advise on development and design guidelines for transportation network. |
